The Lakshmi Devi Lalit Kala Academy was established on July 27, 2002, by Smt. Lakshmi Devi Gupta.

Mrs. Lakshmi Devi was not only interested in singing, but also in literature, culture and art.
His dream was for Kanpur to become an innovative hub of art and culture.
Objective
- Honoring the best arts, art forms and eminent personalities of Indian literature
- Along with Hindi, original literary works written in various languages of India have been translated into Indian and foreign languages.
- To promote Indian arts and literature, to spread the message of national unity and integrity outside India and to bring Non-Resident Indians to India.
